Each participant, and parent or guardian of youth participants, must agree to this Waiver for themselves and on behalf of any youth participant whom they are registering. Please read carefully
Waiver and Release: By participating in the StemStep5K Event, I know that running can be a hazardous activity and that I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I assume all risks associated with running, including, but not limited to, falls, weather conditions including high heat and/or a wet course, contact with other participants, the effects of the road, bumps, grades and traffic on the course, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release b.o.s.h. Inc., StemStep5K, St.Helen, Fleet Feet Sports - Chicago, North Clybourn Group, MAK Services, Ltd., Lakeshore Athletic Services, the City of Chicago, the Chicago Park District and all event partners, sponsors, donors and volunteers, their representatives and employees and successors from all claims or liability of any kind arising out of my participation in this race even that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.
Applicants assume all responsibility for and hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Chicago Park District, its Board of Commissioners, officers, agents and employees against any losses, damages, liabilities, actions suits, proceedings, costs or expenses that the Chicago Park District may incur or sustain or for which it may become liable (including, but not limited to, personal and bodily injury to, or death of, persons or damage to property) resulting from, arising out of or in any way relating to the event. The obligation to indemnify and hold harmless the Chicago Park District, its Board of Commissioners, officers, agents and employees will survive the termination or expiration of the Permit.
Further, I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, or other record of this event for any legitimate purpose or promotions.
The event will proceed rain or shine.
I understand that there are no refunds should weather cancel the event. I understand that the course & location could change up to a few hours before the event.
I understand that the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
